Atascadero, CA - Today, Susan Funk, candidate for District 5 County Supervisor, announced the endorsement of Salud Carbajal, US Representative for the 24th Congressional District of California. The 24th District includes all of Santa Barbara County and portions of San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties.
Carbajal, who sits on three House committees (Armed Services, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Agriculture), has chosen to support Funk's campaign due to her outstanding skills in leadership and consensus-building.
In expressing his support for Funk's candidacy, Carbajal said, “Susan isn't afraid to do the hard work of leadership. I know how much energy it takes to build consensus, and I've seen Susan do it over and over again. The time she spends really studying the issues and discerning the facts means that her proposals and ideas are not beholden to a single political party or special interests. Her willingness to listen with respect to all points of view--to reach out across the political divide--is exactly the kind of leadership we need in SLO county. Susan Funk has my full support for District 5 Supervisor."
Funk's commitment to addressing the realities of affordable housing, homelessness, water resources, public safety, and infrastructure has resonated deeply with voters, and this latest endorsement reinforces the growing support for Funk's vision for a stronger, more prosperous San Luis Obispo County.

The County Supervisor election is set to take place on March 5, 2024, and with Carbajal’s backing, Funk is eager to continue engaging with voters and communities across San Luis Obispo County, sharing her vision and listening to the concerns and aspirations of the people.
